Watch a hydraulic filter come off with the fluid still in the tractor
Seven parts, one job.
VAC TRAC® is not a shop vacuum with a smaller hose. Every part of it exists to hold hydraulic fluid still while a filter comes off.

A filter change, start to finish.
This is the whole procedure. There is no pan, no siphon, and no second person holding a rag.
Seat it in the fill port
Stick VAC TRAC® in the fill port, with an adapter or the extension tube if the port needs one, and switch it on. The vacuum comes up and holds the fluid in the tank.
Spin the old filter off
Break it loose and spin it off as you normally would. The fluid stays where it is instead of running down the axle and into a pan.
Spin the new one on
Fit the new filter, then move to the next one and repeat. Expect about a tablespoon of loss for the change instead of the pan you usually fill.
A SHOP-VAC® was never built for this.
A shop vacuum pulls high vacuum at high volume. That is exactly wrong for an open hydraulic reservoir: it can stress gearbox seals and it can lift the dirt you just dislodged straight toward the gearbox. VAC TRAC® is calibrated for the opposite balance.
VAC TRAC®
SHOP-VAC® is a registered trademark of Shop-Vac Corporation. Comparison reflects how a general purpose shop vacuum behaves on an open hydraulic reservoir.
Bought by people who service their own machines.
Tractor owners who do their own service
Kubota, John Deere, New Holland, Mahindra, LS, Kioti. If the reservoir opening connects to the fill port, VAC TRAC® works on it.
Mobile service trucks
One tool, one operator, no pan to carry and no spill to clean up on a customer's yard.
Small farms and ranches
Several machines on the same service schedule, where the fluid bill is the part that actually hurts.

I’ve used a SHOP-VAC before and it’s a two person job. Also you hope you have it clean enough that you don’t get any trash into your tractor. This dedicated VAC TRAC works much better and you can finish your filter change out on your tractor by yourself.
Tony A., United StatesVAC TRAC® performed exactly as promised. Spillage was basically non-existent.
Bill H., VAC TRAC® customerVAC TRAC’s ability to retain hydraulic fluid while changing filters or hoses has made the pump pay for itself.
Dan S., VAC TRAC® customerWe used it today to pressurize a gearbox for a woods mower. Just the right amount of positive pressure… Not too much to harm anything. But enough to find any cracks or leaks. Did exactly as I wanted.
Robert R., United StatesThis is a great product, with amazing customer support! The versatility makes this a valuable tool in any shop or mobile service truck!
Dan, United StatesQuestions tractor owners actually ask
Will the VAC TRAC® pump work on my tractor?
Yes. VAC TRAC® works on all makes and model tractors where the hydraulic reservoir opening has a direct fluid connection with the fill port. The kit ships with multiple fill port adapters and a flexible extension tube to cover the awkward ones.
Why not just use a SHOP-VAC® instead?
VAC TRAC® is designed for hydraulic filters whereas a SHOP-VAC® is not. VAC TRAC® units are calibrated with the safe and correct balance between flow volume and vacuum strength. Unlike a SHOP-VAC®, that precise balance is what lets the pump hold the fluid inside without sucking the dirt dislodged as the old filter unscrews into the gearbox.
How do I use VAC TRAC® for best results?
Three steps. Stick VAC TRAC® in the fill port, then turn it on to activate the vacuum. Remove the filter while the fluid is being held by the VAC TRAC®. Replace the filter. Repeat as needed.
How long does the battery last on a job?
About 30 minutes of run time on a full charge, and about 2 hours to recharge over the included USB cable. That covers a normal filter change comfortably. If you are doing two filters at their factory torque, and breaking them loose is going to take a while, charge it fully the night before and switch the pump off between filters.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes. We are so sure you will love the VAC TRAC® that we have a 30-day no-questions-asked money-back guarantee to make sure you are 100% satisfied. If you have any issues please contact our customer service hotline at (512) 714-5000, Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5PM CST.
What is included with my VAC TRAC® purchase?
The VAC TRAC® unit, a flexible extension tube for hard-to-reach areas, multiple fill port adapters, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and a USB charging cable.
How big is VAC TRAC®?
About the size and weight of a standard flashlight, 9.5" tall and 2.25" in diameter, so it fits inside your toolbox.
Can I use VAC TRAC® for other jobs?
Yes. Service technicians use VAC TRAC® to hold hydraulic fluid in place when adjusting pressure control shims, and to hold crankcase oil inside when taking thief samples for warranty verification. It should never be used on enclosures containing flammable vapors.
